The socialisation window closes faster than most owners realise. Between 3 and 14 weeks, a puppy’s brain is wired to accept new experiences as normal.
Weeks 3–5: Home base
Gentle handling, different floor surfaces, and household sounds — generators, blenders, children.
Weeks 6–8: Controlled outings
Carry your puppy to safe outdoor spots. Expose them to traffic, crowds, and other vaccinated dogs without overwhelming them.
Weeks 9–12: City life
Short trips to busy streets, markets, and parks. Reward calm behaviour. Never force an interaction.
Weeks 13–14: Consolidate
Repeat the environments your dog will actually live in. One new positive experience a day.
Keep every session short, positive, and end on a win.
